The Agriculture for Impact team will be attending Global Soil Week in Berlin. This year’s Global Soil Week will highlight the importance of land and soil to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals in this the UN designated International Year of Soils. The Global Soil Week 2015 will bring together politicians, scientists from different disciplines, practitioners from civil society, farmers, artists and business representatives to exchange their knowledge and experiences in order to:
- Highlight the importance of land and soil to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals
- Look at monitoring and means of implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals. How, for example, should national monitoring and accountability processes be organised?
- Look at the SDGs through an integrated perspective. What are the combined demands of the SDGs on our land and soil resources? How to balance these? What do we envision for the future, beyond 2015?
We look forward to seeing you there.
