THE FARMS OF CHANGE: AFRICAN SMALLHOLDERS RESPONDING TO AN UNCERTAIN CLIMATE FUTURE: LAUNCH EVENT, 25TH SEPTEMBER, 11.30AM

The whole world will be affected by climate change, but one of the greatest threats it poses is to the food and nutrition security of African farm households. Rising temperatures and erratic rainfall patterns will make it harder to produce enough food on ever scarcer agricultural land and water. Yet, agriculture is both a victim and a contributor to climate change. It is with this in mind that the forthcoming Montpellier Panel report, The Farms of Change: African Smallholders Responding to an Uncertain Climate Future, demonstrates how farmers can adapt to climate change in ways that generate co-mitigation benefits, thus reducing their severe vulnerability to the impacts. A4I will launch the report with our panel members Ousmane Badiane, Camilla Toulmin and David Radcliffe and colleague Tim Wheeler, Deputy Chief Scientist for DFID on September 25th. Please RSVP to alice@ag4impact.org
